2022年10月から12月にかけて放送されたオリジナルテレビアニメ「Do It Yourself!! -どぅー・いっと・ゆあせるふ-」を実写ドラマ化した本作。金属加工のまちとして知られる新潟・三条を舞台に、個性溢れる女子高生たちが工具や廃材を活用しながら自らでDIY活動を行う“DIY部”の物語が描かれる。。In this powerful documentary, Mama Yang, an 84-year-old woman living in New York, finds herself in correspondence with 45 high security prison inmates she views as her own children. Most are Chinese American immigrants, and see in Mama Yang a mother figure they never knew before they stepped through prison walls.
