Fårö Document 1979 is the ten-year followup to the first documentary Bergman made about his adopted home, Fårö, where he filmed many of his best works and lived until the end of his life。苏砚秋为救患哮喘的女儿，答应海城首富林德荣为其涉嫌迷奸的儿子林宇辩护以换取特效药。不料女儿孙佳遭林宇在烧烤店羞辱，苏砚秋当场亮证与林家决裂。庭审时，舆论看好林家，嚣张的林宇却见苏砚秋以原告律师身份出庭。。
