秀京是一名有着不堪回首过去的新闻记者。当年十几岁的时候，她和闺蜜敏秀想去公园玩，结果敏秀消失得无影无踪。秀京深感责任，决定成为一名记者，亲自调查此案。但直到现在她都没有发现她朋友的踪迹。一天，她接到儿时玩伴敏国的电话，后者坚持说他看到了敏秀。秀京起初不相信他，但终于能再次见到敏秀。敏秀确认了自己的身份，也认出了秀京，但她的行为完全不同。秀京觉得事情仍然很不对劲，一切都指向敏秀的男朋友东敏。。White Lies is described as an “urgent exploration of race and privilege, inequality and identity.” Set in the wealthy neighbourhood of Bishopscourt, Cape Town, the series is described as following investigative journalist Edie Hansen (Dormer) as she gets caught up in the ugly underbelly that lies beneath the picturesque beauty of the city, dragging her back to a turbulent past....。
