Juan, a prison officer, silently observes the visit every Sunday of Berta, mother of one of the imates. The day he finally approaches her, he surprises himself by pretending to be another visiting father and inventing a daughter inside the jail: Josefina. The need to fill the vacuum of their lives prompts Juan and Berta to continue meeting outside the reality around them.。本剧讲述了知足常乐的京剧团道具师傅张卫国（黄磊饰）做了大半辈子的京剧，虽然过着特别普通的生活，却深信自己是“皇家的后裔”。在一次参加剧团师兄弟的聚会上，一群各自失意的中年男人开始各种浮夸的自我包装和互相攀比，带着这种包装回到生活的张卫国，经历了以为自己暴富，却又一夜负债，在一系列大喜大悲和鸡飞狗跳之后，最终卸下伪装，直面真实的自己的故事。。
