Are we sometimes too quick to screen and treat cance...。一位从香港来到北京掘金的“港女”李佩如，在一次偶然机会下，遇上了警察方镇东。因为佩如的出现，东与弟弟方镇聪的生活起了变化。聪是一名有自闭倾向的少年，一直受到东的照顾。一天，佩如发现了聪与一名哑女拍拖，东反对弟弟的恋情，奈何自己又同时陷进情关中。东爱上了佩如，但佩如却把东的半生积蓄全都花光，最后更是一走了之。 佩如返回香港后，才发现自己忘不了东，接著返回北京找东，换来的却是东患上了脑血管性痴呆症的事（老年痴呆症的一种）。几番风雨，佩如决定照顾他，与他结婚生子，随著东的记忆开始衰退，东始终有一天会忘记所爱的人，佩如与聪仍对他不离不弃，经历重重的难关，迎接真正的“美丽人生”……。
