One day, they are tasked with cleaning a house where there were three dead bodies inside. Their job is to clean the corpses that have rotted. When they arrived there, they found that there are strange things happening and then they discover a strange book.。一群无薪的建筑工人们出海去异国寻找更好的生活，却一夜之间在海上消失了，被他们留在达喀尔的女人们则饱受莫名高烧之苦。17岁的艾达私下为爱人苏雷曼（去世的工人之一）而哀悼，但是她已经被许配给另一个男人。她的新婚之夜发生了一场大火，随后一名年轻的警察被派去调查案情。但他不知道的是，这些愤愤不平的工人们回来了，而且已经变成了阴魂不散的、占有欲极强的幽灵。他们中的许多人都是为自己的不公待遇报仇，而苏雷曼却是出于不同的目的，他想要见艾达最后一面。。
