故事梗概： 根据东北二人转《赔情》改编。 北宋年间，开封知府包拯去陈州放粮，途径长亭，发现亲侄包勉在沙县任官三年中，贪赃受贿，吞没灾粮，逼伤人命，即将包勉斩首。包勉的母亲王凤英惊闻此讯，悲痛难忍，盛怒之下，要杀包拯。包拯耐心地向嫂嫂说明包勉被铡的原由，怎奈王凤英痛子心切，不容包拯分辨。包拯迫不得已将沙县百姓告的状子呈给嫂嫂，王凤英见状，终于相信包勉犯法属实，但又悲叹自己命苦。包拯不忍看着嫂嫂悲痛，诚恳地向嫂嫂赔情，可嫂嫂仍然悲伤难平。包拯想到陈州灾民，心急如焚，断然欲走，可是嫂嫂凄惨的哭声又使他难以离去。于是他毅然擎剑跪在嫂嫂面前，请求嫂嫂等他放粮归来再杀他消气化悲。王凤英被包拯此举所感动，她钦佩三弟包拯忧国忧民的一片忠心，又想到百万灾民的饥苦，便抛开个人的悲痛，擦干泪痕，跪在三弟面前。包拯也被嫂嫂深明大义的精神所感动，向嫂嫂跪拜三次。最后王凤英欣慰...。Derek Jarman根据布里顿《战争安魂曲》所摄的影片。主要人物为《战争安魂曲》歌词的作者欧文，后者为英国诗人，战死于第一次世界大战。德高望重的劳伦斯·奥利弗爵士出演片中的一名老兵。这也是奥利弗爵士的最后一次银幕亮相。 A film with no dialogs, just follows the lyrics of the Britten's oratorium, that criticize the war's horrors.
