2022年、第17回サイバーフォーミュラGPXが開催された。「アルザード事件」の出場停止処分も解けて加賀やスタッフも戻ってくるが、いまいちレース出場に懸念を抱く理事会は大幅な予算削減を決定。一昨年のマシンでの出場を余儀なくされてしまう。しかし初戦で戦力不足を痛感させられた加賀は、突然接触してきた名雲の誘いを受け、アルザードのオリジナルマシンである「凰呀」を悩んだ末に譲り受ける。そして古いつきあいのグレイと、彼に預けていたフィルをメカニックとして呼び寄せた。 そこまでしてハヤトにこだわる加賀には理由があった。かつて自分が負けたZEROの領域をハヤトが乗り越えたこと、そしてそんなハヤトにZEROで失った親友の姿がオーバーラップしたからだった。。Cars!
