在一座牛奶仍需在每个早上被递送的乡村小镇，一个名叫曼福特（洛伦·迪安饰）的心理学者倾听着周围每个人的述说。曼福特性格独特，留着一头孩子发型，总戴着领带，待人温和又率直。他向人们提的忠告即坦白又平实，却总是能达到使人宽慰的效果。“有些东西很叫人困惑，”他对一个病人说。当病人询问他所指何物时，他平静地回答：“生活。”。Soft boys by day, kings by night: That’s how the young Bulgarian Roma are when they come to Vienna looking for freedom and a quick buck.
