影片讲述凌菲（安晨芯饰）为了赚取母亲的医药费白天舞蹈教学，晚上则在酒吧女神潇潇（王一霏饰）的帮助下兼职跳钢管舞。陈末（曾一竣饰）因业绩超前被老板秦川（孙雪岩）带到酒吧放松，看到台上热舞的凌菲不禁陷入回忆，原来两人曾是情侣，因陈末家境贫寒被凌菲父亲当众羞辱，从此立誓发愤图强，有朝一日报复回去。 陈末在老板秦川的带领下通过融资项目“保利一号”迅速积累名利财富，开始重新追求凌菲，然而好景不长，凌菲被秦川虎视眈眈，在潇潇的配合下用计陷害了凌菲；“保利一号”也开始暗流涌动，金融爆仓，秦川携款潜逃，陈末一时间人财两空，而幕后的金融操纵者陈浩南（陶大宇饰）渐渐浮出水面……。In this bitingly satirical film Peter Slovan, a continuous source of trouble for the film functionaries of the socialist Slovakia, tackles an evergreen topic – the corruptive effects of power. Barnabáš Kos, a triangle player at a symphonic orchestra, is suddenly promoted to serve as the head of the said institution, even though both he and his superiors deem him completely unfit for the task. Encouraged in equal parts by this unexpected recognition and the servile praise of his colleagues, Kos’s modesty starts to gradually vanish. The erstwhile bashful and aloof percussionist quickly becomes aware of the advantages of his new office, and begins to realise his increasingly ludicrous artistic ambitions. Ultimately, the submissive marionette turns into a source of public humiliation, and his astonishing career finds an abrupt end. Orchestra serves here as a microcosm that grotesquely reflects the absurd and tragicomic mechanisms of the paranoid apparatus of power.
